No really, poke me AGAIN, it's fun...

Well thursday is here. Another Midwife appointment and another pint of blood down, but atleast its for a good cause. Having been upset about my last appointment with doctor 'you are sick but theres nothing wrong with you', it was refreshing to see a familiar face.

Had needles poked all over me today, they were testing for my iron levels which are always non-existant anyway, and obstetric cholestasis (which I dont think I have but to be on the safe side we are checking!) Blood pressure finally went up although now its a tad too high! Theres just no pleasing some people.... I'll get the results about the OC tommorow.

What else? Well, baby's head is 4/5 engaged which I am assured is a good thing and means he's getting ready. Its sitting comfortably on my pelvis and his legs are somewhere near my throat (or thats how it feels sometimes). He is measuring fine for 34 weeks, (actually a tad smaller now! measuring 33ish!) so maybe he'll be a nice dainty little size.

Starting to get very manic with all these appointments. I have the week from hell coming up the week after next as I have atleast 2 appointments everyday for a whole week. Well, it'll all be over soon and I'll have a son to look after!

On the 'HAVE A LOOK AT OUR STUFF' list, you will find a new link to a form. The form is really quick and contains 6 questions such as 'guess the baby's weight' and 'will jay pass out?'. We thought it may be fun to see everyones responses and how close you all actually get to the final result.

All the responses will be saved and everyone will be emailled the actual results after the birth of the baby. Go on, theres really no excuse not to!

My Lovely Lady Bump...34 weeks!

Heres another pic of the beer gut as it stands at 34 weeks. (Thats 6 weeks left big bro! lol)

Starting to get harder and harder to take a pic of my own stomach now. Its trying to fit it all in and get the angle right! Ok, so this pic could have been a tad better, but its a rough idea of how things are progressing.

I measured myself today, 34cms, (amazingly, the amount of cms actually measures up to how far along you are) So I am measuring right. I was very dissappointed with my doctors appointment almost 2 weeks ago. He barely even touched me and he seemed to know everything! Isn't it amazing how doctors can tell exactle how your baby is lying without touching or even looking at your bump? I didnt think so either. He also wrote down a load of rubbish about me feeling 'fine' (dispite not feeling fine) and having no itchiness or swollen ankles. (Dispite having itchiness and swollen ankles!)

Oh well, I have a midwife appointment on the 28th and shes loves poking and prodding me. I'm sure she'll sort it out for me, will post further news on thursday! xx

Bump Pics 33 weeks!

Almost there! So very nearly almost there! Heres my most recent bump pics... one at 32weeks. (This hideous one next to the writing...)

And the other at 33 weeks! Also, I dont know what on earth this baby is drinking but he has the hiccups more than me on a night out! Mid you I have the giggles too, I cant imagine him giggling away to himself in there! lol xx

How do I feel??

After being asked about a billion times today, 'How do I feel?' I thought I should put something on here to express how that phrase actually makes me feel. Obviously people are being caring a nice but sometimes, when they say it in that tone, it is as if I am sick and could collapse at any moment. I am fine honestly. But this short article sums up exactley how it feels to be asked that same question over and over again.....

There were four words that drove me nuts every time I heard them while pregnant: How do you feel?
I know, I know, seems simple enough. Someone wants to know how you are feeling! How nice! Those words, although simple enough, seem loaded during pregnancy.
How do I feel? HOW DO I FEEL? I’m pregnant, my belly is stretching, I have cravings for peanut butter at 3 o’clock in the morning and my husband has affectionately nicknamed me “Pudgy.” How the heck do you think I feel?
The people who asked me this question always did with such concern. They’d place a hand on my shoulder, lean in and utter those four little words, much like I’d expect a doctor to say “It is malignant” to a patient.
My pregnancy hormones usually had a role in the way I answered. I’d have to bite my tongue not to reply something horrible about how I really felt.
How do I feel? I feel like shoving my foot up your butt if you ask me that stupid question just one more time.

It's official... He is perfect!

Had the measurements yesterday... He is measuring spot on! Roughly 32 cms which is what it should be for 32 weeks. Looks like he will be a normal sized baby afterall!

Thought I'd post a picture of something stupid to 'measure' my stomach with. A hardware DIY measuring tape came to mind. Obviously it wasn't used! But I have only just noticed the irony of the name on the measuring tape I found. 'FAT MAX'.... hmmmm.......

32 Weeks, What's going on now...

Well, 52 days left! Bring it on! Soon I'll be able to say, he's due next month! Turst us to have a baby due right t the beginning of the month!

Well, heres what he looks like according to babycentre at 32 weeks... I am not going to pretend the size of that head isn't scary, but I'll be feeling better once I can see it, felt it and dress it up in cute little hats.

So, according to the site he weighs approximately 3.75lbs. (This is based on a 7.7lb baby at birth) and his weight will almost double before he is born. (Meaning my beer gut will inevitably double in size too...)

Apparently he has some hair, (yes but what colour?!! Thats what I want to know!) and is steadily breathing amniotic fluid as his lungs are continuing to develop. He has a very good chance of survival if born now, over 95%!

Well, I am off tommorow for another measuring of my beer belly. We are going to see if he has grown since the last appointment 2 weeks ago, if it appears he hasnt, then we will be having another scan to check the size better as its not very accurate measuring with tape!

Baby's had one too many...

The poor little one has been having hiccups all day today. I am imagining a very giggly drunk hiccupping away in there! Maybe he should stick to water like mummy....

Feels really weird him having the hiccups. I had heard about it but its strange seeing my stomach keep jumping up every couple of seconds. I feel a bit mean I cant do anything to get rid of them for him. I cant exactley say boo to my stomach! Someone might be watching!

Heavily Pregnant?!

At what point do you become known as 'Heavily pregnant?' Just for the record, I am not. Lol, talk about put a girl down! You mught aswell have called me a hormonal bag of flabby baby and I woulda felt better!

This is my bump taken today at 31 weeks and 4 days pregnant. At present, our little monster is stuck under my left rib and feels as if he is chewing my pelvic bone! lol.. you'll probably stop reading my blog now... Sorry! xx

Feeling the heat!

I can't say I am not enjoying the heat. I love it! Its really nice not having to try to find a jacket that looks as if it even remotely fits my heffalump! Believe it or not they are not all cropped coats!

But I have to admit it is getting to me quicker than it would if I wasn't pregnant. I feel hotter and more tired faster. Another two months of this... What I would give to be sitting in a beer garden sipping an ice cold bevvy getting really bladdered really quickly...
